Privacy Policy

The short version

Your data belongs to you. We store what you give us so the app works — and we don't sell it, share it commercially, or use it to advertise at you. You can export or delete everything at any time.

What we collect

Account: your email address and a hashed password (we never store your plain-text password).

Flock data: hen profiles, egg logs, health records, feed costs, sales records, and anything else you enter into the app. This is yours.

Usage: basic, anonymous analytics to understand which features are used (e.g. page views). No personal identifiers are attached to this.

How we use it

To operate the app and save your data across devices.

To send you transactional emails (e.g. password reset, subscription confirmation).

To improve the app based on aggregate, anonymous usage data.

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties except as required to operate the service (e.g. Supabase for database hosting, Stripe for payment processing).

Data storage

Your data is stored securely in a Supabase (PostgreSQL) database hosted in the EU. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Only you can access your own flock data — it is isolated per account using row-level security.

Your rights under UK GDPR

As a UK-based service, we process your data under UK GDPR. You have the following rights:

• Right of access — request a copy of all data we hold about you

• Right to rectification — correct inaccurate personal data

• Right to erasure — request deletion of your account and all data

• Right to data portability — export your data in a structured format

• Right to object — object to processing of your personal data

• Right to restrict processing — limit how we use your data

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK supervisory authority: the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

Children

Roost & Record Co. is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you by email and update the date at the top of this page.
